Rebecca gulinello
Rebecca Gulinello is an acclaimed soprano currently part of Opera Australia’s Young Artist Program. Holding dual citizenship in Italy and Australia, she has established herself as a distinguished performer on both national and international stages.
Rebecca earned a Bachelor of Music Performance with Honours from the Melbourne Conservatorium and was awarded the Amelia Joscelyne Scholarship through the Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust. In 2014, she studied in Italy on a scholarship from the Acclaim Awards and Rotary Clubs of Melbourne and Cheltenham.
She has performed with leading orchestras, including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Her vocal talent earned her finalist spots in prestigious competitions such as the Herald Sun Aria Awards (2015) and the IFAC Australian Singing Competition. She was also a Metropolitan Opera National Council District Winner and a finalist in the Mario Lanza Competition and Loren L. Zachary Competition (unable to attend due to COVID restrictions).
Rebecca completed her Graduate Artist Diploma/Master’s at the esteemed Academy of Vocal Arts (AVA) in Philadelphia, where she won her first international competition, the Giargiari Bel Canto Competition, performing at the Kimmel Center. She made further competitive strides as a finalist in multiple international competitions.
At AVA, she performed a range of roles, including:

Her commitment to music extends beyond the stage. In 2020, she conceptualised, produced, and performed in her first fundraising concert for the Australian Bushfires Appeal, raising over $10,000 USD.
Rebecca made her orchestral debut in December 2018 with the Newark Symphony Orchestra and the New Jersey Master Chorale Symphonic Orchestra in their Christmas concerts. The following year, she performed her first Messiah with the New Jersey Master Chorale Symphonic Orchestra.
Her recent operatic engagements include:
• Covering Mimì (La Bohème) and Liù (Turandot) at the Sydney Opera House (2022)
• Making her Opera Australia debut as Micaëla in Carmen on Cockatoo Island (November 2022)
• Performing Mimì in La Bohème at the Sydney Opera House
Rebecca continues to captivate audiences with her artistry, technical prowess, and dedication to the operatic craft.
